Unemployment insurance only covers people who have been insured under the unemployment insurance system for the last 12 months before losing their job. Unemployment benefits and the period of granting are calculated according to the value of SRI – Social Reference Indicator, respectively the period in which the person had the quality of insured before losing his job.
The citizens of the EU / EEA and of the Swiss Confederation benefit from the unemployment indemnity under the same conditions as the Romanian citizens.
