The insurance system for work accidents is a mandatory system that covers all employees. The system provides medical care, work capacity recovery and compensation for injuries or profesional disesses. The system is financed by contributions paid by employers.
The citizens of the EU / EEA and of the Swiss Confederation enjoy the same rights as the Romanian citizens under the conditions in which they have the status of employee on the Romanian territory.
Non-occupational accident insurance is voluntary.
