Learning a foreign language is a demanding task that requires time and effort. It is important to practice the language as much as possible, devote yourself to learning it as much as you can and practice without fear of making mistakes.
The main goal of the Learning Programme on Croatian language, history and culture for foreigners is to enable foreign students to master the Croatian language according to the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference and to become familiar with Croatian history and culture.
Participants can enroll in one of the following levels:
- Level A1 ‒ intended for students who do not know the Croatian language and Latin alphabet, do not know the standard of the Croatian language or the grammatical structure
- Level A2 ‒ intended for students who can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very simple phrases related to meeting specific needs; they can introduce themselves and others and ask and answer questions about themselves and others; they can have a simple conversation provided that the interlocutor speaks slowly and clearly and is ready to help during the conversation
- Level B1 ‒ intended for students who can understand isolated sentences and frequently used words from the area of immediate personal interest; they can communicate in simple and common situations that require a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar topics and activities
- Level B1+ ‒ can easily describe aspects of their education, their immediate environment and content from the area of meeting immediate needs
- Level B2 ‒ participants can understand the main thoughts of a clear, standard conversation on familiar topics that they regularly encounter at work, school, leisure, etc.; they can handle most situations they encounter when traveling through Croatian-speaking areas; can write a simple text on a familiar topic or topic of personal interest, describe experiences and events, hopes and aspirations, and can briefly illustrate and explain their views and plans
- Level (C1) ‒ Advanced ‒ Participants can understand the main ideas of a complex text about a concrete or abstract topic including technical discussions in their field of expertise; can communicate fluently and effortlessly enough to engage in a normal interaction with a native speaker effortlessly from either side; can write a clear, detailed text on a large number of topics and explain their views on a current topic, listing the advantages and disadvantages of various options
Classes are conducted through lectures and through a group and individual manner of learning, 2-3 times a week (depending on arrangement, staff and space availability) for 4 school periods (180 minutes). Upon completion of a certain level of the programme, participants receive a certificate of completion of the Learning Programme on Croatian language, history and culture for foreigners.

The Learning Program Croatian language, history and culture for foreigners is available to all foreign persons with a regulated legal status in the Republic of Croatia, i.e. foreigners with a granted temporary residence in the Republic of Croatia.
The certificate is issued upon completion of a certain level, it is rectangular in A4 format, printed on the prescribed paper and in Croatian, it contains the name and family name of the student along with the description of the program and students obligations and the number of acquired ECTS credits.
