The Croatian Employment Service (HZZ) is a public institution owned by the Republic of Croatia established under the Law on the Labour Market Zakonom o tržištu rada („Narodne novine“ br. 118/2018) and it has a key role in managing the supply and demand in the Croatian labour market.
The purpose of the Service is to effectively mediate the labour market with the goal of ensuring the necessary workforce, achieving full employment and fulfilling unemployment rights, while promoting partnership relations with stakeholders in the labour market. HZZ is the main stakeholder in the development of the Croatian labour market, particularly in the area of mediation in employment in order to achieve a better balance between supply and demand for achieving full employment.

The Croatian Pension Insurance Institute is a legal person with rights obligations and responsibilities established Law and by the Statute and it has public authority in resolving on the rights and obligations from pension insurance.
The HZMO operates independently and it is represented by its director.
The ministry in charge of the pension system performs administrative supervision of the HZMO and the ministry competent for family supervises and monitors the implementation of child benefit regulations.
There are three legal entities in HZMO’s ownership:
• Croatian Pension Insurance d.o.o. (HMO d.o.o.),
• Croatian Pension Investment Company d.o.o. (HMID d.o.o.).
• Croatian Pension Insurance Company (HR MOD d.d.).

The German Social Accident Insurance is a dedicated part of the German social insurance system. The concept was “invented” by Otto von Bismarck in 1885. Together with statutory health, retirement pensions, nursing care and unemployment insurance, it forms the basis of social security in Ger- many. Like the other elements in this system, the accident insurance is compulsory. In accordance with the German Social Code (Volume VII), the German Social Accident Insurance covers around 79 million people against the consequences of E occupational accidents and E occupational diseases. These include around 17.1 million children in day care facilities and schools and students at institutes of higher education (E German Social Accident Insurance for students). Over 4 million companies and institutions are members of the individual German Social Accident Insurance Institutions.
The key features of the German Social Accident Insurance are:

The German Social Accident Insurance assumes E liability on behalf of employers for occupational accidents and diseases suffered by their employees. - The principle of social protection:
This provides insured individuals with an entitlement to E benefits even in cases in which the company is not at fault, or when an accident occurs on the journey to or from work. - The principle of services “from a single source”:
This means that the German Social Accident Insurance takes care of both prevention, and rehabilitation and compensation. - The principle of “prevention before compensation”:
If effective prevention work results in occupational accidents and diseases being avoided, it benefits the insured individuals and their employers alike, and compensation is not necessary. For this reason, the German Social Accident Insurance pro- motes measures for prevention and preventive care. - The principle of “rehabilitation before pensions”:
This means that priority is always given to the best possible medical care for the insured individuals, and to their occupation- al and social re-integration. Since successful rehabilitation is the best solution for insured individuals, all suitable means are used to attain it.

Our company is characterised by a principle that is stated in the European social charter [community charter of the fundamental social rights of workers]: It enables all citizens of the signatory States access to comprehensive health care – independent of income and state of health. In order to live up to this principle, the health care systems in the EU are to a large extent publicly funded.
The German health care system has the following outstanding features compared internationally: Nowhere else in Europe is there a dual system of private (PHI) and statutory health insurance (SHI). One can in essence only find a structured SHI system with free choice of health insurance company (right to freely select the health insurance company) in the Netherlands and Switzerland. In this respect, the German health system differs from the tax-financed state health system in Britain, which provides the population access to health services that are largely free of charge. According to the World Health Organisation, healthcare expenditure in Britain amounts to 9.8 percent of the country’s gross domestic product (2016), which is lower than Germany (11.1 percent of GDP). Private healthcare expenditure in Britain is at the same moderate level as in Germany. The statutory health insurance plays a dominant role in the German health care system: Some 90 percent of the population are insured through the SHI.
For 125 years the AOK has stood for reliable service and comprehensive health care as one of the largest health insurances in Germany.
The AOK looks after over 25 million people – almost one third of the population in Germany. Around 61,000 employees guarantee an efficient service in 1,380 branches. With about 35 percent market share, the AOK is one of the largest health insurance companies in the statutory health insurance.
And: The AOK is more than a health insurance company. It guarantees optimum health care in case of illness and provisions comprehensive offers with regard to prevention.

The electronic health card (AOK health card)
Unlike in Britain, people in Germany have access to an electronic health insurance card. The AOK health card is the key to a wide range of services offered by doctors and hospitals. It has a chip, which has your insurance data stored on it. These include, for example, name, date of birth, gender and address. A passport photograph protects against misuse. In addition, details regarding the health insurance – such as health insurance number and insurance status – are included. Each of your co-insured family members receives their own AOK health card. Simply present the health card each time your visit the doctor or also in hospitals and the services received are directly settled with the AOK.
