It is a security service integrated in the Ministry of Internal Administration (MAI) and its mission is to ensure the control of foreigners in national territory, at the borders, the prevention and fight against crime related to illegal immigration and human trafficking, manage travel documents and identification of foreigners and proceed with the investigation of asylum application processes, in order to safeguard internal security and individual rights and freedoms in the global context of migratory reality.
