“EUReKA – A Key Access to EU Rights” is a project funded by the European Rights, Equality and Citizenship – REC Programme. The project aims at contributing to facilitate the exercise of free movement rights and mobile EU citizens’ inclusion and participation in the host Member States through a joint local, national and transnational circulation of capacity and expertise and an advanced level of access and usability of digital information.
In particular, the project intends to:
- identify, share and disseminate good practices with national, regional and local public/private experts and other EU CSOs from 6 MSs (Italy, Romania, Croatia, Germany, France and Portugal), thus providing experienced-based knowledge on the topic;
- develop and test an innovative one-stop shop web portal and a tool (APP) able to provide easy, online access to practical information, assistance and geolocalised services at local/regional level in 6 MSs;
- promote the use of the technological tools provided by the project among mobile EU citizens (and other potential users) and awareness on their rights, thus empowering them through information and advice;
- ensure the networking/cooperation among public/private stakeholders and their continued involvement in project activities;
- enhance visibility and dissemination of results, thus supporting transfer to other EU Member States and sustainability of project outputs.

We have built a project website firmly rooted in the values that founded the EU: peace, democracy and justice. We particularly value the richness of European diversity and are determined to apply the non-discrimination principle on the grounds of sex, gender, race, colour, ethnic or social origin, genetic features, language, religion or belief, political or any other opinion, membership of a national minority, property, birth, disability, age or sexual orientation (Art.21 Charter of fundamental rights). In the practice of building the EUReKA tools, we have specifically addressed the grounds of the EC’s active engagement: race or ethnic origin, religion or belief, disability, age, gender and sexual orientation.
Under Article 9 of the TEU and Article 20 of the TFEU, every person holding the nationality of a Member State is a citizen of the Union. Nationality is defined according to the national laws of that State. Citizenship of the Union is complementary to, but does not replace, national citizenship. EU citizenship comprises a number of rights and duties in addition to those stemming from citizenship of a Member State.
Chapter 5 of the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights is on citizens’ rights. Articles 39-46 in this chapter protect the following rights
